Welcome to IndySchool Consultancy’s Newsletter

IndySchool Consultancy was formed by Tim Viands, a former school head, administrator, and teacher, to assist schools and educational organizations make their schools, their people, their systems, and their processes more flexible, nimble, and agile. 

After years of research in trends in the independent school hiring space, one thing stands clear- tenures for school leaders are getting shorter and abrupt departures are on the rise.  Our search model aims to change that trend and have longer tenures, happy leaders, and happy schools.

Our consulting practice is designed to assist school leaders and boards help their schools become better versions of themselves. Our d4 Strategic Planning Model is unique, and aims to provide schools with a continuous method of being strategically ahead of the curve.

Issues Board Chairs Feel Are Most Important

In a survey conducted by the Independent Schools Chairpersons Association, nearly 80% of respondents said that “Hiring & Retaining Faculty” is their most pressing concern for the coming year.  This is very consistent with what I have been hearing from heads and other school leaders across the country. 

IndySchool Consultancy Retained by Storylines

IndySchool Consultancy has been retained by Storylines to develop their private school.  Storylines will be the largest residential cruise ship in the world and is set to embark for the first time in 2025.  The school will serve the children of the residents onboard and provide a truly global education.  Students will learn conversational language for each country the ship visits and be immersed in the culture and history.  Through a combination of experiential learning, interest-based learning and competency-based assessment, the students will gain valuable tools to propel them to success.  For more information on Storylines, please VISIT HERE.

Hiring the Wrong Person Has Impacts Way Beyond Finding a Replacement
